ATS Update 03/07/2020 – Taking care of yourself and each other

on March 7th, 2020 | Filed under School News

Dear parents, teachers and volunteers,

ATS is continuously monitoring the Coronavirus spread across the country. Currently, there is no change to class schedules at ATS. We continue to recommend that anyone who is experiencing flu-like symptoms should remain at home to prevent the spread of illness. We are evaluating pathways to students who have any type of illness regarding attendance or assignment due dates. Please contact your teachers or the admin if help is needed.

Students, faculty, or volunteers who returned from countries at a Level 3 or higher designation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are required to notify your doctor’s office on your recent travel, and then self-monitor and self-isolate for 14 days prior to returning to school. If, after 14 days, you show no symptoms of illness, you can return to your Tamil school. If you experience flu-like symptoms, contact the Department of Public Health at 1-866-PUB-HLTH.

We encourage everyone to follow appropriate preventative measures, as recommended by the CDC: wash hands regularly; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; cover coughs and sneezes with tissues; avoid close contact with people who are sick; and stay home when experiencing symptoms of illness.

Please visit the USG resource guide for the latest information concerning travel advisories and other guidance at You can also find additional information from the CDC at

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

Note: Please send couple of individually wrapped hand sanitizer wipes with your children and ask them to use it before and after the class. We also request the parents to leave the campus as soon as the classes are done.

Seal of Bi-literacy Proficiency test – Congratulations to Srija Venugopal!

on January 29th, 2020 | Filed under School News

Dear Parents, Teachers and Volunteers,

We are proud to announce that Srija Venugopal, a graduate from our school and currently volunteering as an associate teacher has successfully passed the Tamil Proficiency Test administered by Avant World Speaking and got qualified to get the Seal of Bi-literacy from the Georgia Department of Education.  Congratulations to her.  She is the first student from our school passing the proficiency test for Tamil and we believe she is the first one to earn this honor in the state of Georgia.

Our special thanks to Mr. Anbu Vincent who is currently coaching our students for the test.  It is our hope that more students would take the test and earn the Seal of Bi-literacy when they graduate from their high school.

Check out the following link for more information on Seal of Bi-literacy.

Please contact Sundari Kumar, or Raja Venugopal,, if you have any questions.

Congratulations again Srija!  Proud of you!
